In the heart of South Auckland, Pathways operates Hamlin Road Organic Farm, a certified organic farm that provides people with lived experience of mental health challenges unique employment and education opportunities.
Hamlin Road Organic Farm grows certified organic produce and seedlings and runs a lawn mowing service. More importantly, it supports people to gain valuable work experience, while they prepare for permanent employment elsewhere.
Quality organic produce
Hamlin Road Organic Farm is a fully functioning commercial enterprise, with organic certification through AsureQuality.
The farm’s seven large shade houses, extensive outside garden beds, citrus orchard and propagation house, grow an array of quality organic produce and seedlings.
Community-grown
Back in 2002, when Pathways acquired the land and funding to start Hamlin Road Farm, we brought together Pathways staff, people who used our services, whānau, business people and community members to share their ideas on how we should use the land.
Almost 20 years’ on, Hamlin Road Organic Farm is a living example of Pathways’ dream to transform mental health and addictions through fostering strong, compassionate, self-supporting communities.
